Why does a woman feel pressure in the vagina and pelvis?

Description:
Pressure on the pelvic region of a woman might be caused by a variety of reasons depending on her age and health. They might be problems in the uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries and need to be diagnosed for the right treatment.

Causes:

The probable causes of pelvic pressure are:

Growing uterus during pregnancy
The uterus expands during the first trimester or early in the second during pregnancy. This causes pressure in the pelvis along with pain near the pubic bone. The growth of the baby also increases pressure on the muscles in the pelvic floor. Another cause for pelvic pressure during pregnancy is the hormone relaxin which loosens ligaments to prepare the body for child-birth.

Urinary Tract Infection
Urinary tract infections are generally caused due to bacteria. Infections can spread from the urinary tract to the kidneys, bladder, and urethra.
Feeling pressure in your lower pelvis is a symptom that accompanies UTIs.

Cells that line the inside of the uterus (the endometrium) sometimes grow inappropriately outside on organs such as the ovaries, bladder, or rectum. This is known as endometriosis.
Symptoms that show up are pelvic pain and cramps, bloating and pressure in the abdomen.

Uterine Fibroids
Fibroids are noncancerous tumours that grow in, and on, the wall of the uterus. Uterine fibroids are most common in women in their 30s and 40s.
Symptoms include feeling pressure in your abdomen and pain or cramps during periods.

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled areas within the ovary. Symptoms include sharp pelvic pain and pressure with large cysts.
