At this rate, it looks like I'm doing one animated lift tour every year lol! (Trust me; if I can find the time, I'll try and make them more frequent.) This Christmas, we are touring the elevators of Axis Shopping Centre, which is a fairly sizeable shopping mall by the suburban areas of Mitsubishiville. It started out as a retail park in the 1990's with Kmart and Farmers operating as 2-storey standalones surrounded by smaller shops. It was turned into an indoor shopping centre in 2005, adding an office block above the mall in the process. 15 years later, in 2020, a new wing was built to accommodate the increasing traffic, which added plenty of new shops and facilities (including a foodcourt and a Reading Cinemas)! To provide some visual context, both wings actually resemble two irl shopping centres in New Zealand — the old wing looks very similar to the bottom floor of North City Shopping Centre—even down to the carpark entrance and Kmart position—while the new wing looks like it took inspiration from Tauranga Crossing!
Even though the majority of this shopping centre is on just one storey, there are still a considerable amount of elevators to look at here! OTIS, Schindler, KONE, Mitsubishi, and even Elevatortech (a fictional elevator company by ‪@TheDragonFire123‬) have made their presence in this shopping mall, so be sure to stay tuned for all of them!
