Welcome back guys today we are going to talk about How to update Panasonic Cameras Firmware. The process is pretty much the same for all the Panasonic cameras, and I will leave the links to the downloads in the description below;

So let’s get started;

So for the process we are going to update Panasonic Lumix G85.

Before we start following are the Preparation steps:

You need an SD Memory Card. You can also use the USB cable to plugin your camera to the computer, but today we are going to USE SD card method.
You need to make sure your BAttery is 100% Charge. It is very critical to the process, because if you don;t have Battery 100% charge, the firmware update will not work.
You need to check the Camera’s Current Firmware.


The firmware version display method
Mount a lens onto the camera body.
Set the camera's power switch to ON.
Press the MENU/SET button.
Go to the SETUP menu and select the "Version DISP" (Screen 1), then press [ (Right Cursor button)].
You will see the current Version of your Camera Firmware.
Now you had confirm the Update version you need to Insert SD CARD into the camera, and format the SD card.
Ok now you need to download the latest firmware from the Panasonic Website.
. Go to the Panasonic Website and I will leave the link in the description below.
. Ok on the website you need to look for your camera model.
In our case we are going to be updating G85, so Click on the link , and download the correct firmware for your camera.

Download and save the Firmware on your computer. It will be zip format.
Go to the file and Unzip it.
You will bee .Bin File.
You need to copy that .Bin file in the Root of your SD Card
Plugin the SD card from the camera into the computer
And Copy .Bin file to the Root of the SD card.


Now Take that SD card from the computer and plugin back into the Camera.
Make sure your Camera is set to P Mode.
Turn On your Camera.
And Hit Play Button on the Camera.
And Firmware Update will start - Do not turn off your camera during the process or remove SD card because it can damage your firmware.

Once Firmware is complete. You can verify the update was successfull by going to the Camera Menu again and Select Verison DISPLAY.
It should show you the latest camera Body Firmware update install.
Pretty straight forward. You are all set.

You can also update the Camera Lens firmware update using the same method.
