Dr. Neil Duane Mullins, 87, passed away on October 15, 2023 in Lowell. He was born on August 14, 1936 in Clawson, Michigan to the late Clinton B and Laura (Stanley) Mullins.

Dr. Mullins was an amazing Christian man, who always put Jesus first. This was shown in his treatment of others. He not only displayed this with his family and friends, but with his patients over the 45 years he practiced medicine. Neil started his practice in 1971 in Pawpaw, Michigan, then practiced in Texas and Bentonville. After retiring, he opened a clinic in Rogers, Arkansas before he finally took down the sign in 2020.

He was the pastor of the Rogers Seventh-day Adventist Church for 20 years and continued to serve as an Elder for 15 years. He authored four books and went on many mission trips that included traveling to over 10 countries. Neil was also one of the founders of the church’s soup kitchen. He had a natural talent for playing the trumpet and started playing in his younger years. Over the years, he would accompany the piano during song service whenever he could and played up to 3 weeks before passing.

Neil loved being outside exercising and especially his Sabbath walks. He was full of energy, which allowed him to be very active. He was very passionate about the church’s Health Message and would minister to people about living a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Mullins was a pillar of the church, but the one thing he would want to be remembered for was his sincere love of Christ and his fellow man.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harold, Dale, Lowell, and June.

Neil is survived by his wife of 24 years, Brenda (Alford) Mullins of Rogers; sons, Marcus Mullins (Danita) of Springdale, Kevin Mullins, Brent Mullins, and Devan Mullins (Alisa) all of California; daughter, Dawn Johnston (Jerry) of Pennsylvania; and stepdaughters, Rebecca Herber (Mark) of Colorado and Amelia Mabry (Spence) of Berryville; brothers, Rob Mullins (Joan) and Dennis Mullins (Karen); and his precious 12 grandchildren.
