The 2-seed Georgetown Hoyas defeated the 6-seed Vanderbilt Commodores 66-65 in East Rutherford, NJ to advance the regional finals, where they would face the North Carolina Tarheels.

The Hoyas struggled in the first half, employing a switching defense that frequently led to mismatches and allowed to Commodores to build a lead as large as 13 points twice in the half. With an emphasis on inside scoring and control of the boards, Georgetown was able to tie the game early in the second half and the lead see-sawed the rest of the way.

Georgetown was led by Jeff Green (15 pt), DaJuan Summers (15 pt) and Roy HIbbert (12 pt, 10 reb). Vanderbilt was led by Derrick Byers (17 pt), Dan Cage (17 pt) and Shan Foster (16 pt).

The gaming-winning shot by Jeff Green was controversial, as some commentators claimed that his lifting of his pivot foot before the shot was illegal. This is incorrect, as explained by Billy Packer during the East Regional final telecast (   • 2007 NCAA East Regional Final: 1 Nort...  , but the damage was done and Green's shot has been forever tarnished.

Notes:
The first 90 seconds of the game are missing from the recording.
The audio track was poorly synced with the video - I've tried to correct but expect some jumps and oddities as you watch.
The game has been up-scaled from a low-quality recording. Apologies.
