● He is previously involved in 16 criminal cases of attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, hurt, criminal intimidation and Arms Act etc. in Delhi/NCR.

● One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore along with two live cartridges recovered from the accused.

A Team of Special Cell SR led by Inspr. Ranjeet Singh and Inspr. Satvinder Singh under the supervision of ACP Sh. Attar Singh has arrested an absconding gangster of Lawrence Bishnoi-Jitender Gogi syndicate on 22.05.2023 after an exchange of fire. One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore along with two live cartridges has been recovered from the accused. He was absconding for 03 years after jumping interim bail in a case of attempt to murder pertaining to PS Narela in Delhi. He is a habitual offender and is previously involved in 16 criminal cases of attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, hurt, criminal intimidation and Arms Act etc. in Delhi/NCR.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION

There was information with Special Cell/SR about the presence of absconding gangster Yogesh @ Himanshu @ Ghoga in North-West and Outer Delhi area. Thereafter, further information about his activities was gathered and after incessant efforts of more than two months, specific input was received by the team of Inspr. Ranjeet Singh that Yogesh @ Himanshu @ Ghoga would come near Britania Chowk flyover on 22.05.2023 between 3.00 to 3.30 pm to meet his associate. Accordingly, a team led by Inspr. Ranjeet Singh consisting of SI Jaswinder, HC Naveen, HC Dheeraj, HC Harvinder and Ct. Rajesh was formed and a trap was laid at the spot.
Yogesh @ Himanshu @ Ghoga was spotted coming on foot towards the flyover at about 3.15 pm at the Ring Road. However, when he was asked to surrender, he whipped out a pistol and fired a shot towards the raiding party. The team members immediately responded and overpowered and disarmed the accused. On search, a semi-automatic pistol and 02 live cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard.

BACKGROUND & CRIMINAL HISTORY

The accused Yogesh @ Himanshu has disclosed that he is involved in 16 criminal cases of robbery, dacoity, attempt to murder etc. in Delhi/NCR. He is an active BC of the PS Narela, New Delhi. The accused was also convicted for 04 years RI in a case of attempt to murder lodged at PS Narela in 2019 and was granted 45 days interim bail in this case in June 2020. However, he did not surrender after that and absconded. He has also divulged that he is an active member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Jitender Gogi gang and provides logistic and financial help to the members of this gang. He is an associate of one Mukesh @ Punit r/o Village, Bakner, Delhi, who is also an active member of this syndicate. It has also been revealed that Mukesh @ Punit along with Rohit Moi, Shakti @ Boxer and Lawrance Bishnoi was arrested in case FIR No. 83/2022 u/s 307/506/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act PS Special Cell.
Further interrogation of the accused is in progress.
