Courage
The only thing that we need in every situation whenever we are afraid! Why are we afraid? Because of the mountains planted before us. Mountains made by the words, actions of things we cannot control. Hence we fear.
Courage Through God
If we look the Word of God however, what do we find?
When the men of old were afraid, what did they do?
They turned to the God of Heaven to draw on His courage and through Him they did exploits!
So much so that we read of their works today all through Scripture.
Abraham, Moses, Nehemiah, Daniel, Elijah...the list is endless!
So what do we learn from them?
The Essence of Divine Courage
They teach us that courage for the believer is definitely not courage of self, it is not courage of your own will that claims the victory. It is Divine Courage that works through us from the Father.
Nehemiah's Walk of Courage
Let's look at Nehemiah's walk through Divine Courage...
Nehemiah 1: 5-6 reads : And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments: Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
Nehemiah prayed and what happened?
And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. (Nehemiah 2:8)
He was able to go back to rebuild Jerusalem and even after facing opposition again Nehemiah says:
And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work. (Nehemiah 4:15)
Divine Courage is a Word, A Bow and An Arrow and A Shield.
(1) It is Word because you have to hear it in your heart, believe before you see it and be steady in God, by faith, through it all despite what you see - don't ever look at the natural while you are carrying it.
(2) It is a Bow and an Arrow because it is God who points it to where it must first go and sets the target. You won't see it coming immediately but behold God will strike suddenly and break the bondage so you can go forth and He will keep sending His arrows over and over as you go forward there is another arrow just where fear would build up again and so you will be able to cross over.
(3) It is a Shield because God will continue to surround you with advise, instruction and direct you as to how to act!
Can you see now why your courage is really outdone by God's? It's His Divine Courage we all need as we move towards our destiny..
Be loved dearest Brethens and be in Peace with all men.
Let Thy Words be Few,
Stayed Locked into God
