How to create sample lines along your alignment at a set interval or spacing:

1. Ensure you already have an alignment created and you have the surface(s) loaded that you want to sample from.
2. Under the Home tab, select Sample Lines, then select the alignment you want to create the sample lines for, either by selecting it in your view space, or by hitting enter and finding it in the dialog box.
3. Fill in the next dialog box with what you want to name the sample line group, as well as the line styles and label styles you would like to apply to it. In the bottom section, ensure you select all of the surfaces you would like to sample from. In this case, I am only sampling from one surface, the Existing Channel.
4. Next, in the smaller dialog box, make sure your newly created sample line group is selected in the dropdown menu. Then hover over the Sample Line Creation Methods button two spaces to the right, and click the pulldown arrow. To create sample lines set at a given interval spacing perpendicular to the alignment, select the first option, By range of stations...
5. In the next dialog box, specify where you want the station range to begin and end (leave as True for default), how wide you want the sample lines to extend on either side of the alignment, and how often you want the sample increments to occur. In this case, I set my swath widths to 20' on each side, and my intervals to every 50' along the alignment.
6. Hit OK, and you can see that sample lines were drawn in every 50' with 20' extension on either side of the alignment.
