DIY Knitted Weighted Memory Blanket using T-Shirts for Mothers Day | Finger Crochet Chunky Blanket

This video is a timelapse of how i made a weighted blanket by cutting up t-shirts to make t-shirt yarn and finger crocheting / knitting.

1 year ago today a good friend of mine passed away from brain cancer. His beautiful parents have been devastated by both his illness & his passing so i wanted to make them something tangible that they could touch and smell to remind the of their son Daniel. Dan's Mum had a pile of his t-shirts that she wasn't sure what to do with. She didn't want to thrown them away or give them to goodwill. I asked her i could take them and make something out of them.

This makes a wonderful gift for someone that has lost or misses someone special. Being able to smell them and feel the weight of the blanket is like a warm hug.
