Western interest in the Yeti grew in the 19th and 20th centuries, leading to numerous expeditions and alleged sightings. Despite photographic evidence and footprints, no conclusive proof of the Yeti's existence has been found. Scientists generally regard the Yeti as a combination of misidentified wildlife and myth.
