Colour: Rum Old Monk The Legend 1L is a rich dark brown with amber highlights.

Aroma: Alluring Christmas cake spices, with roasted coffee bean woodiness, into a subtle note of vanilla.

Taste: Delectable flavours of banana, butterscotch, chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, coffee beans, dried fruits, ripe oranges, and vanilla.

Producer: Mohan Meakin Ltd. took over a brewery founded by Scotsman Sir Edward Dyer in 1855 to cater to beer-thirsty Britons, when India was part of the British Empire. The brewery became a distillery, and Old Monk rum was launched in 1935. Descendants of the original Mohan Meakin family are still involved today, ensuring the consistency and quality of this highly esteemed product. The brand retains popularity and loyalty despite buying no advertising whatsoever.

Production Details: India is the world's leading consumer of rum, and Old Monk was for many years its favourite rum tipple. Rum Old Monk The Legend 1L is a limited edition bottle with a one litre capacity, shaped like the head of the Old Monk himself (or then again, it could be a likeness of creator Ved Rattan Mohan). This Very Old Vatted blended rum is distilled from pure sugar cane grown in the green fields of India, matured in silver oak wood casks for twelve years.
