Croatia officially the Republic of Croatia (Croatian: Republika Hrvatska), is a country located at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe.

Euros are now the main currency in Croatia, since the country switched to the new monetary system in January 2023. The monetary unit was previously the Croatian Kuna, and prices in shops and restaurants will be shown in both currencies until 31 December 2023 to help people adjust to the change.

A decade ago, on 1 July 2013, the Republic of Croatia became a member of the European Union. Despite being the newest EU member, it is one of the countries in Southeastern Europe that have made the most headway in the integration process.
