A Commissioner from Pakistani city of Rawalpindi has resigned from his position, alleging manipulation of the results in the February 8 elections.

Following these explosive revelations, Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered an "impartial probe" into the rigging allegations. Mr Naqvi has directed the formation of a "high-level committee" to conduct an inquiry that ensures an independent investigation into the claims.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected Mr Chattha's allegations, denying receiving any instructions or interference from the Chief Election Commissioner Chattha had claimed that independent candidates leading by 70,000-80,000 votes were made to lose through the use of fake stamps.
