In this talk Ben will give an overview of our various quantization methodologies to make vector search faster and more affordable and dive into the details of our latest addition: Better Binary Quantization (BBQ). Naive binary quantization is rife with failures when it comes to recall and accuracy. However, using cutting edge research that combines multiple interesting techniques, binary quantization can achieve as good or better recall than the stalwart Product Quantization. 32x size reduction, 20x faster to build the index & and better recall than Product quantization?
