This episode of Ukraine Brief covers the 1,336th day of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Russian forces launched six missiles, including two Iskander ballistic missiles, and nearly 100 attack drones targeting cities across the country. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 58 of them, but strikes on 10 locations left at least three dead and nine injured.
Later in the day, a separate Russian drone strike hit Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region, killing four civilians and injuring at least seven others, among them a 10-year-old child.
Following the attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented that Russia has become “less interested in diplomacy” following the U.S. delay on Tomahawk missiles, as Europe and Ukraine work on a 12-point proposal to end the war.
Meanwhile, evacuation units continue dangerous operations to rescue civilians from frontline regions, where the elderly remain especially vulnerable.
Meanwhile, in Russian-occupied Crimea, an oil depot is once again on fire after reports of a Ukrainian drone strike overnight.
