View from an overlook off the North Country Trail along the Silver Lake Basin north of Michigamme. This section of trail is a beautiful trail that winds around the Dead River, Wildcat canyon, and around the Silver Lake Basin. Some large sheer cliffs on the NW side along the Silver Lake Basin. Fishing in the lake is good with mostly pike being caught these days.

Each week I drive around the UP of Michigan to check on the fall colors so I can write about the updates each week in the 10th Annual UP Fall Color Report starting in August through peak color season (late Sept/early Oct).
