I'm making my own leather conditioner because I have run out - luckily i have everything i need in stock.

I find that some leather conditioners seem to have a strong chemical smell - i have tried a couple. My research has shown me that you need an ingredient for conditioning, one for shine and one for protection. The shea butter has a conditioning effect, the oils give shine and the beeswax has a protective effect as it provides a barrier. The lavender obviously gives a lovely scent but it also has antibacterial properties too.

Always make sure that you clean leather before conditioning, otherwise you are just sealing in a layer of dirt. If you do some research on Google you will find many recipes for simple leather cleaners - many of them seem to contain ingredients like vinegar and lemon.

As with all products, you should test it first on an inconspicuous portion of the furniture to see if you are happy with the effect.

You can use this on untreated wood but it will darken it significantly - it certainly won't do it any harm.

The ingredients are -
Beeswax, Sweet almond oil, coconut oil, shea butter. Lavender oil for scent.
