The new head of the British army says forces must be ready to fight a war in three years.

In his first speech in the role, he says the UK is facing danger from an “axis of upheaval” of Russia, Iran, China and North Korea.

Britain’s army chief believes Russia will seek revenge against countries such as the United Kingdom which supported Ukraine.

This is why General Sir Roly Walker has given his soldiers three years to be ready for war.
