Advances in Genomics and Personalized Immunotherapy, with Robert D. Schreiber, Ph.D.

Описание к видео Advances in Genomics and Personalized Immunotherapy, with Robert D. Schreiber, Ph.D.

As our understanding of how our immune system "sees" cancer grows, strategies for the development of new and more effective cancer treatments emerge. Personalized approaches to cancer treatment are beginning to offer patients new options with custom-tailored vaccines that target unique proteins expressed by an individual patient's tumors.

In this webinar for patients and caregivers, Dr. Robert D. Schreiber of the Washington University School of Medicine discusses the latest advances in technologies that identify unique genetic mutations in patients' tumors that make fitting targets for therapeutic intervention with cancer vaccines. These "neoantigens" are becoming the focus of intense research and may lead to a resurgence in cancer vaccine development.

This webinar was recorded Wednesday, October 18, 2017. The "Cancer Immunotherapy and You" webinar series is produced by the Cancer Research Institute and is made possible with generous support from Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genentech, Regeneron, and Advaxis.
