Bilateral Meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam 10/08/2024

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. meets with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam on the eve of the 44th and 45th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) on October 8, 2024.

During their meeting, the two leaders discuss deepening bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade and agriculture.

The Chief Executive also expresses his condolences for the losses caused by Typhoon Yagi and for the passing of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, the longtime General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who died on July 19 this year.

In 2025, the Philippines and Vietnam will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the two countries’ Strategic Partnership.
