(5 Mar 2001) English/Nat
Pop star Michael Jackson has arrived in London nursing a broken foot on the eve of his much-anticipated address to the Oxford Union.
The so-called "King of Pop" looked frail as he hobbled out of a gangway at Heathrow Airport on crutches on Sunday, but he insisted he would be dancing again soon.
It wasn't clear how the singer had injured himself.
Jackson is due to speak at the Oxford Union on Tuesday with an address timed to coincide with the launch of "Heal the Kids" - the latest charitable initiative of his Heal the World Foundation.
More than 20-thousand people have applied for tickets to attend the event, making him the most popular guest speaker in the Oxford Union's 178-year history.
Jackson's lecture is expected to focus on the issue of resensitising the world to the lessons to be learned from children.
The Oxford Union regularly invites top celebrities and public figures to address its members.
Other luminaries to have addressed the Union include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, actor Peter O'Toole and soul singer Barry White.
