Before you start group therapy you should discuss these 5 things with your group leader(s). Most group leaders want to get to know you before you start group, and will hold a one-on-one 'Group Orientation' meeting (sometimes called a 'Group Screen' or a 'Pre-Group Meeting') to help you determine if you are a good fit for a particular group and to help you feel prepared to show up to your first day.

The most important things to discuss with your group therapist is confidentiality in a group therapy setting, norms for extra-therapy relationships, expectations for attendance, risk-assessment and intervention, goals for group, and any other logistical components of group (day, time, location, payment, etc.)
