Yellowface did the Scoobie Do ending? [spoiler review and analysis]

For a while I’ve been interested in the idea of writing about writing; stories about the experience of being an author. When I heard about Yellowface, I hoped I had found a great example to study. The book was described as a satire of racial diversity in the publishing industry, and is by R.F. Kuang, already a successful author of the Poppy War trilogy and Babel, which gave me even more hope that this might have been the book I was looking for, but was it? Let’s find out. Spoilers ahead.
