It takes a LOT to receive authentic yogic teachings! A 200 hour training or Western yoga trainings in general speak to the corruption, distortion and colonization of yoga.

It's a hard truth, but if you begin this way, you have to understand it's not even a foot in the door. It's better to save a whole lot of money and start learning the correct methodology of Yoga from lineaged, unbiased teachings and authentic teachers. Start listening to people from the culture and tradition, if you can't connect to the people and culture, why are you interested in Yoga?

Uncolonize first.

To learn and teach yoga from a colonized place and perspective will not support anyone's healing, wholeness or liberation, let alone your own.

The path of yoga is hard before it is easy. My experience and start of my true yoga journey was tough but a fulfilling experience, one that is ongoing. Humility and respect of yoga's roots and context is essential.
