Backstory:
Pisinoe Uiara is a siren whose sole desire is to leave the water and see the world beyond. Unable to explore the land due to the limitations of her aquatic nature, she comes to view herself as superior to both humans and youkai. Her desire for freedom drives her to collaborate with Motokubo, a powerful entity capable of flooding entire regions, including the landlocked corners of Gensokyo.
Using Motokubo's powers, she floods Gensokyo, intending to force the land into submission so she can finally walk upon it. She is heedless of the devastation this causes, both to humans and youkai alike, as she fixates solely on her own ambition. Her initial quest leads her into conflict with the heroine, who ultimately thwarts her plans.
After the battle and the flood’s receding, Uiara finds herself forced to confront the consequences of her actions.
Pisinoe Uiara was born deep within a forgotten realm beneath the ocean's waves, where celestial forces and ancient magic shaped the tides and currents. From her earliest days, she was raised among the sirens—powerful beings who claimed to be the chosen spirits of the sea, their immortality and divine beauty revered by all who encountered them. These sirens thrived by luring unsuspecting sailors into the depths, where their souls would be consumed to sustain the sirens' powers and eternal life.
Though she was part of this esteemed lineage, Pisinoe was different. From a young age, she felt a profound connection to the stars above and the currents beneath. She would often spend long hours gazing up through the surface of the water, captivated by the distant landmasses she could never reach. The ocean, while vast and beautiful, felt like a cage, its endless expanse both a sanctuary and a prison. Her heart longed for the freedom of the world beyond the waves, but the sirens, bound by their pride and their duties, taught her that the sea was their realm—uncontested and eternal.
Her early life was one of luxury and reverence, but also of isolation. Pisinoe's powers over water were extraordinary, her control over the tides and currents growing stronger as she aged. She was adored by her people, treated as a rising star among the sirens, but she felt a growing sense of dissatisfaction. The more she studied the flow of fate and time, the more Pisinoe began to resent the confines of her existence. The water could not satisfy her yearning for something more.
Her celestial heritage, a gift from her divine ancestors, had taught her balance—how to live in harmony with the forces of nature. But for Pisinoe, balance was no longer enough. The thought of remaining forever underwater, endlessly commanding the waves without ever experiencing the land she so coveted, gnawed at her. So, she began to explore the ancient secrets hidden beneath the ocean. Her deep-sea explorations led her to long-forgotten relics, ancient temples, and cryptic manuscripts, until one day, she discovered a mysterious artifact: Triton’s Eye. This relic, said to hold dominion over aquatic creatures and even control the lesser youkai of the seas, was the key to unlocking her dreams.
