Steve Francis and Cynthia Cooper combined for a sixth place finish in the 2000 2Ball Competition held during All-Star Weekend in Oakland. Later that evening, Francis would finish as a runner-up to Vince Carter in NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The 37-year-old Cooper, meanwhile, was the midst of leading her Houston Comets to a WNBA four-peat with Cooper being named Finals MVP in each of those forays. She retired following the 2000 season only to briefly return in 2003 before calling it quits for good.
