Architecture Is Art - What Do You See?

Our "Architecture Is Art" program examined the relationship between architecture and art, and encouraged audiences to think about architecture beyond specific buildings, form and structure. Through various projects and artist talks, we were able to bring new perspectives to how these two creative genres are intertwined. "What do you See?" is an example of how we shared this concept by asking people to draw two iconic Chicago buildings while paying attention to their artistic design, like lines, shapes and textures; all of the elements that visual artists consider when creating their own works. "Architecture is Art" truly exemplified the Chicago Architecture Foundation's goal of inspiring people to discover why design matters. Enjoy!
