By adding a brand new charred American white oak stave to each bottle and then sealing it, we keep the angel’s share inside the bottle capturing all of the finer flavor components. We Make The Angels Thirsty™!

Brilliantly Balanced
We are able to be Proof at 95 without coming across overly hot. This is due to the enrichment of the new oak stick producing sweeter fruits and vanilla for a superbly balanced whiskey.


Bottle Design & symbolism
The bottle itself symbolizes our respect for the military. It is tall and straight—standing at attention. The bottle surface has a slight hourglass shape symbolizing the cut of a military uniform with a trim belt line represented by the white background of the label.

The figure of Odin represents the warrior spirit present in all our armed forces and their oath to protect and defend our country. The colors of red, blue, and gold also reference military colors with the gold braiding emulating the uniform stripe embellishments.

The reverse label tells our story while the barcode artwork reminds us of the military warrior heritage which helped start our country.

The second charred oak application in the bottle creates our whiskey’s hue with a deep rich shade of mahogany. A brilliant color to match the taste.

Our Story
Our story starts with inspiration and family. Big Stick Bourbon was the inspired idea of Mike Ryan, who is an engineer and inventor. After sampling many bourbons, he knew he could do better. He came up with the innovative “stick in the bottle” idea and never looked back. Today the company producing this world-class bourbon is owned by Mike and his father, Tom Ryan, who was an army soldier during the Korean war era.

Big Stick begins in the traditional bourbon making method. We source the finest ingredients and age them in charred New American White Oak to our exact specifications.

After experimenting with traditional mash bills and dozens of variations, we opted for a unique blend to offer an unmatched flavor profile.

Big Stick Bourbon is ultra-smooth because before bottling, we add a c­harred New American White Oak Stick into every bottle. The bourbon to stick in bottle ratio is 99.8% equivalent to that of bourbon in a 53-gallon barrel. Similar to a “Double Oaked” whiskey, this added step allows our bourbon to gracefully integrate with new oak for a second time.

This innovative process creates an exceptional and extremely smooth whiskey with rich, enhanced flavors. With no evaporation in bottle versus in barrel; we like to say, “We Make The Angels Thirsty!™” All Big Stick Bourbon is small batch.
