Austin Powers Operation: Trivia (PC) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Austin Powers Operation: Trivia (PC) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Sierra and Berkeley Systems' 1999 trivia game for PCs running Windows 95/98, Austin Powers Operation: Trivia.

Played through two full episodes. The first is playing with Dr. Evil. The second, beginning at 17:50, is with Austin Powers.

Austin Powers Operation: Trivia is, as the name suggests, a trivia game with a somewhat 'randy' sense of humor. It's quite similar in many ways to the You Don't Know Jack! format, with rapid-fire questions in several formats, all written with a fair level of absurdity and usually quite funny. The Mike Myers sound-a-like voicing Austin and Dr. Ev is hit-or-miss, but is generally close enough to make the point, and the writing isn't too far off of the Jellyvision gold standard set in YDKJ. It's not quite as consistently hilarious, but it's still a damn sight better than most video game attempts at humor, then or now. It's funny, either way.

I also really enjoyed the presentation and format of the game. It moves quickly, throws all sorts of neat (and high-quality) psychedelic visuals at you, and overall keeps it surprisingly interesting to watch despite the heavy emphasis on text on most screens.

It's a bit more of a novelty than YDKJ, and having fewer questions does shorten it's shelf life a bit, but it's a good time for the first dozen or so playthroughs.
