To use an external hard drive with the sMS-200 or sMS-200ultra, please refer to the following precautions:

When using an external storage device, we recommend using a hard drive with its own external power supply.

For stability, we recommend using an externally powered USB storage device with a capacity of up to 2TB.
In our test case, a 4TB drive also worked, but for reliable operation, 2TB or smaller is strongly recommended.

The external HDD should be a single partition, and we recommend using NTFS or FAT file systems.

We recommend using only one USB port. Using multiple USB ports simultaneously may degrade sound quality.

If the mwdata folder becomes 100% full, the system may enter an abnormal state and fail to operate properly. External USB storage devices are not applicable in that case.

External USB storage devices can be used with the Squeezelite or MPD&DLNA features.

In this video, you’ll learn how to use an external USB storage device with the sMS-200 or sMS-200ultra, and how to control playback.

First, enable the MinimServer function via the Eunhasu web interface, allowing the unit to act as a DLNA server.

Next, enable the MPD&DLNA function.

Finally, use the Mconnect app to browse your music library and control playback.
