They are commonly known as thornspples or jimsonweeds, but are also known as devil's trumpets or mad apple. Other English common names include moonflowe, devil's weed, and hell's bells. All species of Dhatura are extremely poisonous and psychpactive, especially their seeds and flowers, which can cause respiratory depression, arrhymias, fever, delirium, hallucinations, anticholinergic syndrome, psychosis, psychosis, and death if taken internally.
