In this session, PIANC Africa explores the newly updated PIANC WG 224 – Planning of Fishing Ports (2025) guidance and translates it into practical, implementable steps for the African context.

From the unique layout requirements of auction halls and cold-chain integrity to the adoption of ICT/IoT and disaster resilience, this webinar provides a roadmap for modernizing fishing infrastructure from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.

This webinar brings together the lead author of the WG 224 report and two senior port leaders from Nigeria and Ghana to discuss how global best practices can be implemented within the unique socio-economic landscapes of West African waterways.
