How does culture shape our bodies?

What’s up with this thing we sense through, our body? Hearing, seeing, smelling, accessing the world, all done through a bunch of complicated flesh with nervous networks within it. Should we see the body as an object, or is the body itself subject?

Let's say we read Pierre Bourdieu: we partly understand what cultural marks are left within it - that the body has a "habitus", a way to be, given by its social status, class, society. Western values make a body be a certain way, but if we look at some indigenous views, they give us a different perspective.

We’re just wondering … how is the body shaped by the very different cultures and societies it inhabits?
