Originally, gingerbread production was closely linked to monasteries, on the one hand because around a monastery there always settled many craftsmen and on the other hand because back then only certain sections of the population, like monks, could afford the expensive spices. The documentary searches for traces across Europe: from Poland to the Czech Republic and Hungary to Austria. Gingerbread has its place in different cultures, and it always tastes like gingerbread, but always a little bit different...
