How to build a Backyard Basketball Court

Описание к видео How to build a Backyard Basketball Court

Backyard court from start to finish. Kids can now safely play basketball in our backyard! (See below for details)

Dimension of Court: 24'x24'
Excavated area: 8" deep and fill with compacted 3/4 stones
Concrete pad: 5" thick
Court Tiles: ProStep Tiles which are 3/4" thick
Basketball Backboard size: 54" x 36"

The cost without the hoop is around 7.6K USD.

Day 1: Preparing the area for concrete.
- Remove bricks, rocks, plants that are in the area
- Excavate the area 8" deep
- Use wood to mark the boundary

Day 2: Filling with rocks
- Fill the area with 3/4 stones

Day 3: Installing steel mesh
- Install steel mesh
- Dig a hole for the basketball hoop

Day 4: Pouring concrete
- Pour concrete into the area and the hole for the basketball hoop
- After the concrete is leveled, use a broom to make it a rough surface. It is to make the court tiles easier to grab hold of the concrete
- Setup the base of the basketball hoop before the concrete is hardened

Day 5: Cutting concrete
- Cut the concrete every 1/3 of the court

Day 6: Installing court tiles, basketball hoops and drawing lines

I wish I could make the court wider so I could have the complete 3-point line. But there is a tree in the middle of my yard...
