Silent Shadows may very well become Sugitani’s signature series, and with good reason.
Amalgamating and emphasizing the aesthetic qualities of his previous works, Sugitani has infused his new sculptures with an almost Brutalistic dynamism that exhibits the artist working at the height of his powers.

Let the silence of shadows begin.


音無き世界に佇む光影。
見えざる引力のように、厳かな空気に包まれる陶のモノリスが目の前に聳え立つ。
杉谷恵造さんの静かな影に、行き交う人類の隆盛を見た。
