Stroke survivor talks about how he used his own experiences of stroke and aphasia to support others affected by stroke. Frustrated at not being offered counselling himself after his first stroke 26 years he took action and trained to be Counsellor to help others. Now working at ‘Connect, the communication disability network’ using a variety of methods to support stroke survivors and their families to overcome this life changing event. This film was shown in the ‘Share and Inspire’ area at the UK Stroke Assembly held on 9-10 June 2015. An event aimed at people affected by stroke and encouraging them to move forward in their journey of life after stroke and taking action on stroke.
