Dresden Dampflok - to Berlin and back by Steam Power

Описание к видео Dresden Dampflok - to Berlin and back by Steam Power

By rail to Berlin powered by a pair of Class 01 Pacifics, constructed 36 years apart. 01 2066 was built in 1928 by Berliner Maschinenbau and 01 1519 was built in 1964 at Meiningen. We begin with the triumphal entry into Dresden Hbf on Saturday morning by the steam powered leviathans. Ahead of them is a 200 mile round trip to Berlin plus a loop around the Ringbahn. The hard working locomotives have been prepared at Dresden Plauen, after taking part in Friday’s events at Dampflok 2022. No lineside runpasts but we see the water stops at Elsterwerda and the locomotive servicing and refuelling at Berlin-Schöneweide - much spinning of turntables and raking of fires. It’s fascinating to see how much more tolerant the German authorities are with trackside trespass compared with their counterparts in UK.
