September 2019: After a year of embargo on this image, I can finally share the behind the scenes editing process that went into creating the Grand Portrait of the RococoPunk Project !

Two years of conceptual work inspired by the set and costumes from The University of Calgary's 2015 production of The Learned Ladies went into this project. Designer April Viczko, Art Director Erin Molly Fitzpatrick and myself spent months researching art history, the Rococo Punk fashion movement, and lighting techniques to create the most detailed image possible.

It took more than 20 hours of principal photography over two days to create the base images, and a further 80 hours of post production. Our models were photographed one or two at a time, lit with a single 60" deep octobox, filled with various ambient stage lights. The us of actual theatrical lighting sources was a nod to the community for which this work was created to celebrate.

This is my love letter to Calgary's performing arts community. This is how it was made. Please enjoy ❤️
