I find that the floor tom is the most susceptible to a mediocre sound. Either it lacks low end or it lacks resonance, making for a less-than-ideal sound. Today I give you 8 reasons why your floor tom might be falling short of your expectation, plus I give you 8 possible solutions to the problems. We conclude the discussion by answering the question of “what is the REAL reason why my floor tom sound is frustrating me?” Often the solution is a simpler and easier fix than we think, and this 8th solution just might be your cure.
