Háll (US) — Demo I — 2024

The debut of this project.

This release seeks to fuse the relentless abrasiveness of raw and black metal with ambient undertones, creating an interesting contrast between harsh sonic landscapes and softer, more atmospheric textures.

The first track makes a profound statement, offering an intense onslaught of harsh and atmospheric black metal. However, amidst the chaos, a layer of synthesisers weaves through the mix, attempting to introduce a more serene or contemplative ambiance. Despite these efforts, the harshness of the instrumentation prevails, maintaining a feeling of untamed coldness.
As the demo progresses, the subsequent tracks reveal a more pronounced use of synthesisers, where also the atmospheric elements come to the forefront. This shift gives the later songs a blackened ambient character, providing a respite from the more chaotic tendencies of the opening track. Yet, even in these more subdued moments, there remains the previous undercurrent duality more prominent in the beginning track.
