Five tips to get your home ready to sell - South Jordan, Utah

Today’s video is to touch on 5 things you can start doing TODAY to help get your house ready to sell.
Curb appeal is a key factor in getting people to look at your home and getting the best possible price. Each one of these tips can be done in a short time and won’t cost a lot to get completed.

Here's what is discussed in the video:
1. Clear away all leaves and debris and mow the lawn. Clean out flower beds and plant new flowers if needed.
2. Trim hedges especially away from windows. This allows light to come into the house and helps prevent damage to screens and siding. It also helps with crime prevention. A common variable in burglaries are homes with overgrown bushes and shrubs. When walkways and windows are covered by bushes, they may look great, but they are an opportunity to a would-be burglar. Look at your home from the street, can you see all the access points clearly and easily? If not, make sure you trim the green and keep you and your family safe.
3. Power wash the sidewalks, driveway, house, and fence. The exterior of the house needs to be clean and bright. Dirt and stains show your potential buyer that the house may have maintenance problems.
4. Paint doors, door frames, window frames. railings and storm drain downspouts. You don’t want weathered and flaking paint to be a distraction. Use a quality outdoor paint that can withstand the weather and climate in your area.
5. Fix or replace window screens. A clean, clear view will make your house feel more vibrant as it will allow more light to come in.
