Qualcomm Snapdragon delivers performance and longer battery life for students

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform delivers the performance and features to help kids succeed, and the battery life that lets them live how kids should live: on-the-go and not tethered to an electrical outlet.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform enables productivity virtually anywhere — whether that’s in the classroom or at home for remote learning. The need for this kind of technology became especially apparent in 2020.

And with some schools returning to in-person learning, students still need connected devices with longer battery life to complete their schoolwork — and to connect with each other.

Always on, always connected PCs and always connected Chromebooks powered by Snapdragon 7c deliver lightning-fast connectivity, performance and multi-day battery life. They can support the varied requirements of in-person and remote learning, including Zoom video conferencing.

This video demonstrates just how effective a mobile PC with our Snapdragon 7c is when it comes to battery life. In tests, running Zoom video conferencing for 1 hour on two laptops — one with Snapdragon 7c and a second with a competitor’s chip — the Snapdragon-powered laptops battery life dropped to just 97 percent while the competition dipped to 80 percent. After 4 ½ hours, the numbers look even more impressive for Snapdragon 7c at 66 percent while the competing system shutdown. The Snapdragon 7c compute platform was able to run about 11 ½ hours on a single charge, up to 2.5x longer than the competition.

One of our goals at Qualcomm Technologies is to build the solutions that help students and teachers succeed. When the pandemic called for the rapid digital transformation of just about everything, Snapdragon compute platforms, including the Snapdragon 7c, were ready to lead the way with always connected laptops that work virtually anywhere, with or without Wi-Fi.
