Premier Bank recognizes the Robinson-Shuba Commemorative Statue Committee for their contributions to our community.

The larger-than-life bronze statue will portray the 1946 handshake at home plate between Jackie Robinson, the first Black baseball player to break Major League Baseball’s racial barrier, and his white teammate, Youngstown native George Shuba. Downtown Youngstown development advocate Economic Action Group is the fiscal agent for the statue project.
