Before you travel,
Aim to arrive at the Folkestone terminal at least 1 hour before your booked departure time. This buffer lets you complete check-in, passport controls and any last-minute preparations without feeling rushed.
Follow the motorway signs for “Eurotunnel Le Shuttle – Folkestone Terminal”.
As you approach, you’ll see lanes leading to check-in booths.
Pull up at either a self-service kiosk or a manned window:
At self-service kiosks, use the touchscreen to enter your booking reference or swipe your payment card.
At manned windows, give the attendant your booking reference and ID.
You’ll receive a small paper hanger printed with a letter (e.g., A, B, C). Hang this from your rear-view mirror. It corresponds to your shuttle crossing and shows on the departure boards.
Immigration and Customs
Keep passports ready for the UK exit and the France exit.
Once you are on the other side of the tunnel, simply drive off and join the Motorway network in continental Europe.
