I haven't been this happy with a run in a very long time. Despite having less health and taking more damage than usual, a dual hunt of both Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos was incredibly difficult. Sub-5 is also very difficult to get and I just barely hit it with this run.

The first challenge of this hunt was to figure out how to deal with the Melynxes. Items being stolen isn't a problem because I can carry Felvine, but they will tear me to shreds if not dealt with. I mitigated this issue by using Felvine Bombs, which help distract the Melynxes from attacking me and even give me more chances to kill them during the hunt. They can still get a hit on me if I'm unlucky enough to be between them and the monster, but that's why I use an Adamant Seed during my Heroics setup so I'm guaranteed to take at least one Melynx hit without dying.

Silver Rathalos otherwise goes the same as it did in the singular hunt--use a Dung Bomb with Felyne Dungmaster to force it to attempt to leave the area, letting me get free hits on it that I otherwise wouldn't be able to get. However, there's a difference between fighting it in Area 2 instead of Area 8--it will take off on the spot ANYWHERE in the area instead of running to pre-designated areas, which means I'm always guaranteed maximum damage between attacks. Also, due to the narrow nature of the area, it's actually easier to snipe its wings when it jumps backwards because it will more often than not ride the walls, letting you get a clean hit on its wings before it has a chance to choose another option that would otherwise cause your swing to miss if it were able to create more distance. The caveat to this is that you have to learn to read which direction the Silver Rathalos is going to move along the wall, which can be very difficult. You can, however, just wait for it to land and then do a Dung Bomb escape attempt, but that's less damage and just...doesn't look as cool.

Gold Rathian was the second challenge after the Melynxes. I use Smoke Bombs to keep her from engaging me, but the timing on her arrival and departure is somewhat random. Sometimes she will walk right into the fight with the Silver Rathalos which is an instant reset if she gets in the way. The reason is because, despite TECHNICALLY being able to still fight the Rathalos and just Dung Bombing her away, I need her to appear and leave at certain points in the run. She needs to leave before getting too close to the Silver Rathalos but return right after he's dead. The timing generally works in your favor if she doesn't spot you, but the real problem is when she first arrives. There's actually a hidden rage mechanic shared between Rathian and Rathalos--if one of them rages, the other will also rage if it's present at the same time. Another unique rage trigger is if one of them is staggered out of the air (not Flash Bombed), the other will enter rage mode on the spot. This is useful for keeping the Gold Rathian at bay, as it will cause her to stop temporarily to roar and jump backwards. Unfortunately, the timing of her arrival doesn't always line up with the first Rathalos knockdown, so you have to hope the second one makes her back off before she gets too close.

Gold Rathian also gets the Dung Bomb treatment this time around because it's actually viable this time (and because I actually didn't think of it back when I did the singular hunt). You also want to use a Felvine Bomb on her if one or both Melynxes are still around, but luckily they were already taken care of during the Rathalos fight.

As usual, I use bombs at the start of the hunt to lower my HP to activate Felyne Heroics, which gives me a 1.35x attack boost.
