Phantasy Star IV Purgatory is a hack created by The Komrade. Compared to the Hell Mode hack, Purgatory makes all enemies immune to all negative status effects, including instant death. In return, characters with useless skills affected by Purgatory's changes get new skills to replace them. On top of all this, some skills and equipment got buffed. Most importantly though, the enemy difficulty gets a massive boost.

I'm playing on the version of the Purgatory hack which doubles EXP & Meseta gained from battle to help reduce the time I need to spend grinding when it is needed.

You can head over to romhacking.net and do a quick search to download whichever version of the hack you wish to play. ROM file will need to be found on your own though.

Well, I don't know how it happened, but Lashiec manages to be even easier than the Xe-A-Thouls. He doesn't have a one shot physical or magical attack and his only two attacks aren't going to be a problem to heal from with the right macros setup. Pretty much what you did for the Xe-A-Thouls will work for Lashiec.
