High End Talks (Elusive Disc X Soundsmith)

Elusive Disc Vice President James Bantz sits down with Soundsmith President Peter Ledermann to discuss the intersection between science and sound at the 2023 High End conference in Munich. Ledermann talks about the Soundsmith brand and products, as well as the company’s keys to success and future endeavors. Mr. Ledermann combines his interest in science and engineering with his passion for music (and vinyl) to craft some of the audio industry’s leading high-end cartridges and sound equipment. He reflects on how an early realization about how the “acoustic teeter-totter” of the stylus, where a large amount of force over a small area is transformed into a small amount of force over a large space, sparked his fascination with cartridges and analog sound reproduction, leading to a lifetime of inquisitiveness and inventiveness that we see in the Soundsmith product lineup today.
