US President Joe Biden has headlined the first day of the DNC (Democratic National Convention) in Chicago.

The Democrats' four-day event kicks off in Chicago as supporters rally around the party's presidential pick Kamala Harris.

The crowd also heard from First Lady Jill Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other Democratic leaders.

Biden headlined the convention on 20 August, less than a month since he stepped down as presumptive nominee for the party in the US election race.
