Steve Reich's Clapping Music realized in Minecraft as piston feed-tape loops.
There are two "tape loops." On the left, a redstone signal travels in a loop, triggering noteblocks arranged in a rhythmic pattern. This pattern remains static throughout the duration of the work. Mirrored on the right is a second tape-loop configured in the exact same rhythmic pattern; however, this tape-loop may be manipulated using minecraft pistons that are triggered by a performer. When triggered, two short redstone pulses are sent to the pistons to cause the tape loop to rotate counterclockwise by one rhythmic unit. When this happens, the rhythmic pattern desynchronizes out of phase with the other tape loop, creating a complimentary rhythm. This phasing process permutates twelve times until the rhythmic patterns are resynchronized.
